As a social worker, I am focused on helping adults successfully navigate both new and chronic stressors in their lives. These stressors may be new diagnoses, ongoing health conditions, caregiver stress, grief and loss, traumatic experiences, and life transitions. We will all encounter difficulties in our lives and my goal is to help you work through the things you are struggling with.
In addition to helping clients who are living with an illness or disability, I have experience supporting the family members, loved ones, and caregivers of adults. I can assist in understanding the impact that illness or disability has on the sense of self, roles and relationships, and day-to-day life of everyone involved. I can also help process the grief and loss that is felt when a loved one is nearing the end of their life or has passed away.
I also am able to hold space and support medical providers who have been impacted by the difficulty and uncertainty of providing care during a global pandemic. The past two years have been incredibly stressful on everyone, and I can provide a safe space to process and heal.
My background is in medical social work and have worked closely with adults with new diagnoses and chronic illness, their family members and caregivers, and health care providers. I am intimately familiar with the healthcare system, through both professional and personal interactions. The US healthcare system is frequently an oppressive, traumatizing, and dehumanizing institution that most of us must interact with for our health, our work, or our loved ones. I believe it is worthwhile to explore your experience with the healthcare system and to work through the complex effects it can have on our physical and mental health.
I use she/her pronouns and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington. I received my Masters in Social Work (MSW) at University of Washington and work to continue my education, most recently working to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist-Individual (CCTSI).
I take a person-focused, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach. I believe there is value in how each person’s unique life experiences have contributed to where they are today and where they will go next. I believe we all deserve to live a fulfilled and harmonious life and I am passionate about working with you to find and achieve what happiness means for you.
