Hi, welcome, I'm glad you're here! I'm here to tell you that you are not alone in your trouble coping with life changes, strengthening your relationships, and questioning who you are. You are not alone in struggling with connecting with others, setting boundaries, and expressing how you feel. Your upbringing and environment (family, peers, mentors, culture, community, society) have a profound impact on you in life-giving and painful ways, and I'm here to support you in exploring your identities.
I will use various therapeutic styles to assist you in making sense of these experiences and exploring your wants and needs. My approach is relationally focused, with a trauma- and attachment-informed lens and an anti-oppressive framework. I have a passion for supporting folks in queer, BIPOC, immigrant populations, and I especially enjoy working with clients between 13 and 25 years of age.
My identities include being an Asian, Vietnamese, queer, immigrant therapist. These identities inform how I make sense of the world as well as how I approach therapy. As someone with identities in both privileged and oppressed areas, I am committed to continuously educating myself and reflecting on how these power dynamics come up in my professional and personal life, as well as how they can impact you in our work together. I strive to approach these issues respectfully and honestly.
Throughout our time together, you get to decide how you want therapy to serve you—whether it is taking a deep dive into your past and unpacking traumatic experiences or untangling the transitional, day-to-day challenges and addressing burnout. Your needs can change over time, and that’s okay!
I am currently a Master of Social Work Candidate at the University of Washington, and I received my Bachelors in Psychology and Communication Studies at Texas Christian University. Below are therapeutic styles I draw from:
