I am able to support people who are living with depression and anxiety, PTSD, life changes, folks in intercultural/interracial relationships, chronic or life limiting illness, culture shock, and also people who feel that they are in a state of prolonged grief. I have personal familiarity with prolonged grief associated with the current tragic events in Palestine.
I come to Peaceful Soul Healing with decades of experience in social justice work, as well as child welfare and crisis counseling. I was raised in the Seattle area but have had the opportunity to live in the Middle East and Southeast Asia with my husband and family. I also have raised my three children in a Muslim, Palestinian American household. I identify as a Muslim woman however I was in a Christian household. These experiences have nurtured within me a great sense of respect for diversity in culture, religion and class.
I partner with clients using a strengths-based approach and incorporate motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy in my sessions. I also incorporate grounding and mindfulness exercises. I enjoy engaging with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist and am completing a Master of Social Work degree from Eastern Washington University.
We all deserve a sense of wholeness and joy in our lives. Sometimes it requires a partner to help us identify and overcome what is getting in the way of that wholeness and joy. I look forward to partnering with you on that journey.
